Brrr.....that's what I thought when I first woke this morning, as our bedroom window was completely open and the curtains were blowing in the breeze. As I wiped the sleep from my eyes I could see why it was so cold.....the sky was white and thick; no clouds in sight. I guess I didn't quite believe the weatherman on yesterday mornings news. He acutally had the nerve to forcast snow around our area of Oregon. Crazy, I tell ya! It's not even October and we might have some snow?!? Seriously? It was hard to believe because yesterday was warm and sunny and today.....completely white sky. Deep down, I do have to admit I'm a bit excited for the change in season. It has been a very hot and dry summer and while I've enjoyed the beauty of it all and being outdoors, the cooler air is much more appealing to me. Though....I think it's going to be nice to be in Florida next week to absorb one more week of nice weather. I wonder what the weather is going to be like there? I hope warm and breezy.

This week has gone by pretty quickly for me. I can never decide if that is ever a good thing or a bad thing. I worked at my beloved LSS Sunday through Wednesday and enjoyed myself as usual. I had some time to play in between customers and created a few pages that I will share below :) I had the day off yesterday, so after a lazy morning and too much coffee, I hit Barnes and Noble to get a few books for my trip. I think I scored and found 2 really good chick-flick-type books that will keep me out of pure boredom on the long flight to Florida on Tuesday. I decided to go first class on this trip, so I'm hoping they have some sort of moving playing or something to entertain me ha!. I am not someone who sits still very well for 6 hours at a time! I need music a movie....something stimulating other than watching the man next to me do business on his laptop or the stuardess trying to put on her best friendly face... Though.... I do plan on taking full advantage of a few glasses of champagne and just enjoying myself. Okay..nuff about that!

I'm excited to share that the lovely girls at a new french site called, Scrap Notes have asked me to be their very first guest designer for the grand opening of their site in October. What a cool honor! Thanks ladies!

I will also be a guest designer for http://www.scrapmagie.com/ in November. I checked out their site and the kits are amazing and the past guest designers are people like Rhonna Farrer, Karen Russell and many other amazing people.......so as you can imagine, I was quite honored to be asked to do this!

Well, my coffee cup is empty and I need to hit the shower and do some primping :) I get to open up the shop today for Suzie! I'm hoping it's a busy day and people are in the mood for shopping.

Enjoy your weekend!!!

My class for tonight and a new tag from Melita :)

Hello! I hope everyone is having a great week. I just wanted to pop in really quick to share a peak of a fun little album I will be teaching at Scrapbooking Outside The Box tonight. I used Hambly's new vintage patchwork to create a 6x6 album, along with some adorable and colorful Doodlebug stickers. I used ribbon for tabs to turn the pages and inked the edges of the transparency with Staz-on ink. I love how it actually stays...Imagine that..ha!lol. So, I'm pretty excited to teach this class tonight. I have a full class which is always awesome and my mom and sister will even be there. They took my very first scrapbook class way back when, but haven't been to any new ones, so I'm glad they will be joining us! I always like to bring some sort of treat for everyone to each class and it usually is a cupcake, but I
am brainstorming for something different to bring, maybe something less messy. Steve suggested caramel corn in a cute to-go oriental food box and I like the idea, but not sure yet. Any ideas?!

Ugh, I had such a hard time sleeping last night. I have a zillion things running through my mind to get ready to head down to teach at the Scrapbook Vacation Clubs in Florida. Overall, I think I am just excited.
Last week I shipped a 40 lb box of class kits to the owner of the retreat, Dionne. I hope she has help loading it. I had to bring Steve to the PO to help me. Dang, that thing was heavy. But, it felt great to have all of the classes in kits and directions ready......all set for some fun classes. So, now I am in the works of trying to figure out what scrap supplies I want to bring. At this retreat, they have 66 hours of cropping time available, along with the workshops. I've never been to a big crop before, so I'm really excited. It has been suggested to bring *kits* with everything to make pages to save on space and I think that's a great idea. Just trying to decide what I'm going to do will be the hard part. Any tips for packing for crops would be greatly appreciated!

I've been tagged by Melita to list 7 random facts about me. Hmm..... okay here it goes ;)
1. I cannot stand radio commercials or TV commercials. Especially car or truck dealer ones.
2. Sugar Free Red Bull gets me through the hours of 3:00-5:00 pm. I get sooo tired about then.
3. I love listening to hip hop when driving in the car, but sometimes get embarrassed when I realize my stereo is "bumping" down the road and my head is bopping too..haha!
4. I am extremely clumsy and frequently fall down the stairs at my house.
5. I don't like the feeling of sand between my toes or anywhere else ;)
6. I love, love performing on stage and the high/rush I get. I miss that!
7. I listen to "Kidd Kraddick In The Morning" everyday and laugh out loud as I am driving to work. It's a great way to start the day. {It's a radio show that is so funny, but stupid at the same time...love it}

Well, off to Staples to print instructions for tonight's class! Have a great day :)

Cards, cards and more cards :-)

Hello! Just wanted to pop in and share some cards I had fun playing with. Sometimes I forget how fun card are to create. I like being able to try out new ideas and techniques in a smaller scale and use them as inspiration for my pages :) I hope everyone is enjoying their week. I can't believe it's already Thursday. Boy, this month is already flying by. Have a wonderful rest of the week and enjoy your weekend!

The flowers "Get well" card was made using the an older KI memories line that is a personal favorite to this day!
The "Happy Birthday" card was created using Tinkering Ink's Botanical Bliss papers with Making Memories flowers and fabric paper I found at my LSS. Very shabby chic and pretty, I think :)
The "Thank You" card was created using American Crafts paper and the a Heidi Swapp stamp and my new love..... "Rain Dots" by Cloud 9 design. Love those!

Well, that's it for today :)------ Take care!

I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend. Steve and I went to the coast to visit his family for the first part of the weekend. We had a nice time with them and shared quite a few laughs. I seriously thought my ab muscles would be sore the next day from laughing so hard. Steve and his sister Tiffany got in a very silly and revealing mood and started sharing stories of their past to their mom, that back then had promised they would never tell to their mom..ha! Though, she was a good sport and laughed along us hysterically, she had to be just a wee-bit shocked..lol :-)

I've had fun playing around with my paints this last month. I loved the kit I received from Crop Addict this month. The colors of the papers were cool and had great punches of red. Lately I've been trying new things with my style. I've always wanted to play around with paint, possibly even a 3D medium like a plaster or something. So, I've been trying this out. I used paint with both of these pages and love the slight "grungy" feel to them. I've also (yes, I am way behind this trend..haha!) the "Rain dots". Oh, wow. I just LOVE these great little additions. My scrapbook store has them in all sizes and colors. And, of course I had to buy one of each. So bad of me..lol! I bought the large ones with an idea to make them in to buttons. I simply used my smaller circle punch to a piece of paper I wanted to make for my button. I then applied the large "Rain Dot" and used my really tiny hole punch to punch two very small holes for my button holes. I used another large punch to create my flowers and used my scissors to cut small triangle shapes out around the circle...creating a flower-ish looking shape. I then inked the edges and crumpled it up to create a distressed feel. I added the button to center and hand drew a stem design on green card stock and attached that below the flowers. It was fun to make my own embellishment. Although..... I realize this technique has been around for a while and done so fabulously by the pro's, it was fun for me to finally play around with and try out :-)

I wish everyone a wonderful week! I always look forward to and appreciate hearing from you.

Lots of teaching going on-YAY

I'm happy to report that there have been so many fun things going on in my life lately. Mostly to do with this hobby I love so much.....scrapbooking. It's funny and SO true that when you put yourself out-there and ask for what you want....it comes back full circle. I've said a lot in the past that I wanted more teaching opportunities. I love, love teaching scrapbooking, teaching techniques and most of all connecting with other like minded people who love this hobby as much as I do. As some of you already know from previous posts I've been enjoying working part-time at my LSS, "Scrapbooking Outside Of The Box." I've taught one class there in June and loved the experience. I have 2 more classes coming up this next month there. On September 6, 2007 I'll be teaching a "FALL layouts" class from 7-9 pm . Fall is my most favorite season----by far! I love the rich colors of the leaves, the crisp, yet tolerable air and all that comes along with this lovely season. During this class we will create 2 "Fall" themed layouts that include tons of layering, use of diamond glaze to create a neat 3D embellishment and lots of inking and my ever-favorite outlining of layers. I'll have a few give-aways and some yummy treats, of course! If you are in the area, there is space left and I would love to share this class wiht you :)

Update and pics on teaching at ScrapbookVacationClubs.
I am also extremely excited that my trip to teach a few Tinkering Ink classes at the luxury retreat in Daytona Beach, Florida at Scrapbook Vacation Clubs is just a month away! My flight is booked, most of my supplies are on the way, instructions are completed and I've been having fun shopping around for cute clothes to wear while there! This is something I've been looking forward to since I was asked a few months back. I can't wait to meet these ladies and have a fun, fab class. These classes are no open to the public, so if you are in the area sign up! I will teaching a mini chipboard book using Tinkering Ink's perfectly Posh line of papers. We will create an album that will be about "YOU" and your personal top 10. I have a few journaling techniques that I will instruct to get through that hurdle of writing. Which we all know can be a struggle. I will also teach my "Big and Bold" class using Tinkering Ink's Covenant garden line and Perfectly Posh line. The class I am most excited to teach there is using Tinkering Ink's timeless Nior Blanc line of papers. During this class we will create an actual coaster set. These coasters will be created with Modge Podge and are gorgeous and functional! We will also make 2 cards and a gift bag in case someone would like to give the set away for a present :) A 2 in 1 kind of thing :)---Gotta love that! Below, I'll post the photos of these 3 classes!

So............ that's the skinny of what I've been working on with my new classes. I'm working on a few other classes and even an online class I've been asked to design! I am just so thrilled and will share more with you as I can in the near future!

Enjoy your week! Off to do some laundry and hopefully some creating time!

Hi there! I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the end of this summer's season. Just tonight, Steve and I noticed that it was dark about an hour earlier. So...that means Fall and Winter are just around the corner. I sooo love fall and the golden colors and crisp air. Ahh...it's just around the corner! Steve and I have had a great couple of weeks since I've last posted. We have enjoyed attending the "Brew Fest" here in Bend. We went for a bit and enjoyed a few local brews before Steve had a horrible migraine headache and I took him home. Poor guy. He is never one to complain. Ever. But, a lot of things have been going on at work for him..... so a Friday night was the tip of his stressful week. Luckily he had most of this week off to rejuvenate and relax. He was so adorable today and when I was off getting my hair cut, he cleaned the house and finished up all of the laundry. I have no clue how he is able to accomplish so much
so quickly..lol. I swear I was only gone for a couple of hours and when I
returned the entire house was vacuumed and dusted and the laundry was
folded and put away. Like magic. Ha! I can never accomplish
that much in that little of time. Leave it to Steve..lol!
Yesterday, 8-21-07 was our 8th wedding anniversary :)

We slept late (um, like 11:00ish- YIKES). We had one of those mornings where I got up at 4 :00AM because I was thirsty and ended up waking Steve. We both sat and watched infomercials(yup..boring!) until about 6:00AM and both admitted we felt tired and went back to bed...uhehm until...(so embarrassing) like 10:55 AM. As soon as I was ready we went to breakfast and then to shopping. Mostly home decor shopping. We hit Pier 1 Imports for some yummy candles for our home and some great smelling hand soaps. Pretty simple on this round, compared to some shopping trips we've had..lol :) We stopped off at ShopCo for a few other *simple* home items on our way home and side-tracked ourselves with the *baby* section. Yikes. Oh, boy. I totally am ready. Nuff said there...lol :)
We ended our evening with a lovely dinner at a place we have *always* had a hard time getting reservations for. It was nice, except our table wasn't the most private. The food and service was wonderful and we both enjoyed the most luscious bottle of delicious Pinot Nior. Yummm.... We stopped off at the video store on the way home and rented a couple of scary/freaky movies that kept us on the edge of our chairs for the rest of the night. It was a great 8th year anniversary. Even if it was a simple one. The best thing is that I am SO thankful to have such a wonderful guy in my life.

Aside from festivities and anniversaries, I've been really enjoying working at my LSS, Scrapbooking Outside Of The Box. It is fun to help customers find what they are looking for, explain the use of new product and just *simply* be there. Seriously........just being there makes me happy. I was telling Steve the other night that when I open up the shop, I simply walk in...turn on the lights, take a deep breath and look around, feeling thankful to have the opportunity of being surrounded by such beautiful things....things that make me happy and full. I love it there :) Simply stated, yet.....so true.

In closing, I am sharing a couple of layouts I've created. I've been scrapping a lot of things I can't post right now, but with these two layouts I've had a lot of fun trying a few new techniques. Mostly paint. I think it's fun to add a different textures to my pages. I admit it's still a bit scary, but I'm having fun having a new technique to play with!

Well. I hope you ALL have a WONDERFUL week and enjoy some time to create beautiful things :)

Wow, time does fly when you are having fun..lol :)
I didn't realize that 2 weeks have passed since I made an entry. I've had a fun couple of weeks. Just to sum it all up, Steve and I have enjoyed making trips across the street to the river @ Sawyer Park to refresh and cool down in the lovely river there. Last weekend, we took blankets, towels, books and wine and sat at the edge of the river with our feet in the water. Pretty soon, Steve wandered farther and farther out into the river and plunged himself in the water fully. It was pretty funny to watch him splashing around like he was 10 again. LOL! It felt great to spend the day outside. We enjoyed our local county fair last Saturday afternoon and spent a few hours looking at exhibits and the animals....especially the horses :) We were going through the horse barn when the Clydesdale's arrived. The looked proud as the stood there waiting to be unloaded...red and white ribbons braided
so delicately through their lush manes. These horses were
something. I have also started helping out at my LSS, Scrapbooking Outside Of The Box. I have really enjoyed this. I love being surrounded by pretty papers and products for hours on end
and being able to chat with other scrappers.
It has been a great experience!! I love it. For real, this time...lol :)
In conclusion I am sharing a few layouts and a card {Card was removed due to being published in the JANUARY cards issue} I've
created this past week. The first few were created using the August Crop Addict mid-month mini kit. The rich colors and tones to this kit were just lovely and fun to play with!

And....just to get you in the mood for winter and the holiday's I created a couple holiday pages. The second one is using Tinkering Ink's new Yuletide collection of papers and embellishments. Love this line!

Well, I hope you have a great night!!!

First off.
I really appreciated seeing your words of support regarding my hard decision. It really helped me this week in those moments of feeling lost. It has been hard not setting my alarm each morning and having a regimented schedule each day. That’s really been the hard part. The good part is I’ve had tons and tons of time to create and many projects that I can pay a lot of attention to and my house is organized and as clean as ever..lol!
I was in my LSS, “Scrapbooking Outside Of The Box” this week browsing the isles of gorgeous patterned papers, buttons and embellishments when I was talking the sweet owner, Suzy about my recent decision to leave my bad situation. In joking I mentioned, “Hey, since I am not working I have tons of time and if you ever need someone, I’m your girl.” Well, she was interested and admitted to needing someone to cover at times. So, it looks like I’ll be working there off and on. I am not sure about the specifics, but I am excited to have the opportunity of spending a day or two once in a while surrounded by scrappy goodness. It will be refreshing to not worry about the norm of the job I’ve held most of my working life….making sure that the patient’s insurance will cover their appointment, making sure I’ve billed their insurance correctly, making sure the schedule is correct and filled and the hard part….. Collecting payment. That was always the hardest part of the job for me. When people didn’t pay their bill. Since I was the only one in the office, I was the one who also had to call and ask them to pay their bill. It was funny because I was also the one who had to greet them as they arrived to see the therapist. So. Long story short. I’m looking forward to not having those stresses. As little as they may seem in the realms of the real working world. I know my stresses are small compared.
Back to scrapping, I’ve had a lot of fun having the time to experiment with ideas that I’ve wanted to try . I’ve gotten on a handmade funky frame kick lately and have made a few more layout using them in different styles and ways. I have also played with another idea I’ve wanted to try out using a clear transparency within my design. So, below I’ve shared a few of my “playing” around layouts.

I conclusion, I would again like to thank you for your words of encouragement. It means a lot. I hope you all have a very wonderful weekend and get to spend lots of time with your loved ones in this beautiful Summer season.

Enjoy your weekend

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Steve and I enjoyed our weekend together. We slept late on Saturday and hit the town to see what was going on. I love how there is always something going on here in Bend. This weekend was the "Tour of Homes." We were able to go in and view many gorgeous homes, homes that I dream of living in one day. 4.5 million dollar homes to be exact. I was in awe as we approached the drive ways to these jaw dropping homes. Each with a gated entrance providing the ultimate security leading to the most beautiful and elaborate home perfectly displayed on the mountain side and panorama views of all 7 snow capped mountains. The interiors opened to the outdoors through 14 foot raised windows. Floor-to-ceiling
aquariums with the most vibrant colored fish and lighting. 1000 bottle wine cellars and their very own theater. As I walked around, I couldn't help, but to stop and touch the nearest railing, closing my eyes imagining that this was my home, my lifestyle. Maybe some day, but it sure felt wonderful to dream. It was so, so inspiring most of all.

I've also recently had a HUGE life lesson. I think one of the biggest ones I've had to learn so far.

Do you know those times when you are presented with such an opportunity you feel like there would be nothing better and you couldn't wait to get started? That was me with my hope and excitement of making a career shift. I never expected this opportunity to turn into such a nightmare. I know I've continued to say I loved my new job, I now realize that I was saying that I loved my new job so much to hopefully make myself believe it. I won't go into explicit details other than saying. It was not a pleasant experience anymore and my self confidence was being greatly altered each day I was there. I have worked hard in the last few years learning to believe in myself and my abilities and day by day "this person" was making me believe in my self less and less. I am not ever one to quit. Heck, I had been with my last employer almost 3 years and the one before that 7 years. I have worked since I have been 17, so I know what having strong work ethics is all about. But, something inside of me was screaming. GET OUT OF THERE!!!! For once in my life I listened to my self and left. It has taken me a week to not feel totally worried and stressed about this decision. I have faith that what I am suppose to do in my life and as a career will present to me one day. I know that I am not wanting to get back into the same career path I've had for the last 1o years of running offices at medical facilities. I feel like I would like to pursue something creative. Something that I am passionate about. Something that makes me feel complete. I am not sure if that means going back to school, getting back into singing opera again or if I should pursue teaching scrapbooking in more venues. Whatever it may be I am going to take my time. In the mean time, I am enjoying tons of time to create, coming up with new class ideas to present and painting my scrap room.

Well, yes, it isn't what I expected to happen. But, I'm glad that I won't endure that place any longer. While I am upset that means losing out on my training, I know I can continue it on my own. I feel like I have the tools to continue what I was working for on my own.

Whew. I guess I needed to get that all out. If you have read this, thanks for your understanding.

XXOO-Tessa Ann

PS! Thanks to Lucy, Emine and Mo for giving me the "Rockin' Girl Blogger" Title!!! You are all the sweetest :)

New *Tinkering Ink*

With CHA right around the corner, I wanted
to pop in and share some sneak peeks of Tinkering Ink's new "Botanical Bliss" line of gorgeous papers. The full releases of the new lines can be found on the Tinkering Ink blog by going to www.tinkeringink.com and clicking on the blog tab. Once again, I love the colors and patterns that Tink Ink has so gloriously combined. When these lovely papers arrived on my doorstep I couldn't wait to play. The pretty salmon pink, combined with a delicate yellow and vibrant teal blue made me inspired to do a layout about all of the things that make me happy. I mean, just looking at these colors were making me happy..lol. So thus the following layout titled, "This makes me happy." This layout came together very quickly, as these papers begged to be layered and as you know........I love to layer {wink}

The second layout, you may recognize
the photo from a previous layout.
When I saw the vibrant array of colors,
I couldn't help but to scrap this picture again.
Just as a recap. The photo is of my sister, Heidi last fall
as she was getting ready to go down a fun colored slide.
I love how the colors of the slide glow off of her skin, creating
a fun saturated look with no photoshop. Completely natural.
You can't get that look too often with out adjustments, so I guess this is one of my favorite shots I've captured. I think I will put this photo to rest for one and all though ;)
The 3rd layout is of Steve and I on a most recent trip to the falls here locally. I really loved the large gerbera daisy patterns of this line, so I had to handcut them, layer them and of course outline them with a nice chocolate colored pen to make the "pop". This page represents our love for our new town of Bend, Oregon. Well, we've been here almost 3 years and it still feels new because we are constantly discovering new and beautiful places that we never knew of before.

Lastly is a oldie photo, but a goodie! Next month, Steve and I will celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary. I still love going through the many books of wedding photos.
They always serve as perfect inspiration
to scrap when needed be. I thought this line also worked very well for
wedding pics.

Well, that's about it for today!
I hope everyone is having a great week so far. I've had a HUGE life lesson this past week and will share more on my next post.

For all of those attending CHA this week, HAVE FUN, wear comfy shoes, take you camera and drink LOTS of water and most of all ENJOY!!!! Have a great show!

It's hot....

Yes, that's right. It is officially HOT. Summer is
here and I am melting when I go outside. I am so thankful to have airconditioning in this new house, or I would be one miserable chicky.

S0 as I am sure you have noticed..haha.... I decided to add some tunes to my blog. It may suprise some of you what type of music I like. I always say that I have quite the jekle and hyde personality when it comes to my music choices..haha. I love a little Ella Fitzgerald and then groove with some P-diddy or Gwen Stefani. Pretty much anything that has a great beat!
Being music major, I've come to appreciate
all genres of music. So, hopefully it's okay and
if not, find your "mute" button and apply as needed...haha :)

I'm excited to share with you a fun new
developement in my new pursue of teaching
opportunities. A couple months back, I was
approached by Scrapbook Vacation Clubs to come and teach at their "Luxury" retreat in Daytona Beach, Florida to teach a few Tinkering Ink classes. I am so incredibley excited to come and teach these classes. I have prepared 3 fun filled classes that I hope will be fun for the ones attending.
The previews of my classes will be up on
http://www.scrapbook-oasis.comat/ the end of
this week. Oh, man... I am so flippin' excited!
I will have such a neat opportunity of meeting so many fun people. Some I've even met online. This 3 day retreat is going to be held at a gorgeous resort called,
"THE PLAZA" resort and spa.
I'm arriving a day early to just have a nice relaxing spa day. Ahh... I can
hardly wait! Oooh..and by then, I hope to look good sippin on a mojito by the pool :)

In closing, I would like to share a few layouts I created using Crop Addicts July mid-month mini kit. This kit featured pretty Basic Grey papers and fun embellishements.

I hope everyone is doing well on their side of the world and being super creative! I look forward to hearing from you :)

What I've been up to :)

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far. It has been pretty warm here in Bend. We are suppose to reach 96 degrees on the 4th of July.yikes. That's too hot for me. ha! Steve and I were invited to an outdoor event that we are pretty excited to attend. Finding the perfect outfit is on my to-do list for today. The main thing is: It has to be cool, not as in "cool", but as in not too hot..lol :-) It has been a pretty quite and simple past few weeks. I continue to work out with my trainer 3 days a week and just this last week learned that I have lost 3 inches off of my waist. Whoohoo. I continue to build muscle and my metabolism is progressing. Good things. But, he TOTALLY kicks my butt and I get another round here in a few hours..lol :-)
The hardest part has really been the diet. Each morning I have to drink a "medical" food shake. Now, it's not *terrible* but it's definitely not my favorite thing to ingest at 5am. But, I faithfully down that shake each and every morning knowing that the benefits will far out-weight the process of trying to get it down..lol. Combine this with about 8 supplements and I'm ready to hit the gym. But, when I say the diet part is difficult, it is that I have to each 5-6 meals a day. I am used to eating 2 meals. I never ate breakfast before and have learned that was SOOO bad for me. So, it has taken some getting used to, but I am seeing results and my energy levels are much higher. So....I trust the process.

I've been creating a lot lately too. I went through a bit of a "rut" last month, and it feels great to feel inspired again. My friend, Pammy, encouraged me to scrap non-DT related layouts to get out of the rut and to scrap things that are simple, like flowers and such.
So it feels good to be spending more time in my studio giving some love to my supplies that were begging to be played with ;-)

Before I ramble on and on like I normally do, I will simply wish you a wonderful 4th of July. Be safe and most of all.....HAVE FUN!
----XOXO---Tessa Ann Watte`
