Monday Creative Team Member Spotlight- Rachel Mason!

Good Monday morning!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It was beautiful here in Oregon with our 1st day of spring reaching temps of 80 degrees!  My mom and I spent the weekend in Salem with my sister shopping for her wedding. It was nice to get away for a bit and have some girl time!

Today, we have Rachel's amazing creativity for our Monday Creative Team Spotlight!   I am super stoked to share her projects. I really love Rachel's style. I love her use of embellishments and her wonderful eye for design.

Rachel chose to work with our "Just The 2 Of Us" birds on a wire button collection for her projects this month.

I love how Rachel sprinkles her embellishments around her pages! It's so pretty!!!

A super cute 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 card/tiny page to brighten someone's day!

Rachel created this flower embellishment using a button center. This would be adorable on a page, card or even a gift bag!

Thank you, Rachel! Your projects are outstanding!!!!!

Monday CT Spotlight! See how Amy Priddy uses our MY GUY button collection on her accessories!

Amy has created another gorgeous set of functional and stylish accessories! For her projects this month, Amy chose to work with our My Guy button collection!

This set of boy inspired buttons features a cute red Schwinn-styled bycicle,  a red converse-style shoe and 4 fun complimentary buttons. I love how Amy has used this set!

Her first project is a super cute wristlet for carrying your Iphone, Ipod or any other small accessories!  I love the red, black and white combination and the way she used the shoe button. Classic and functional. I love it!

Amy beautifully created this fantastic bag for your accessories. This bag is available for purchase in her Etsy shop today! http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=42737370

You also have to check out the other fun items Amy has created. I tell ya, she's pretty amazing :) She is going to be making laptop cozies in the near future and I cannot wait to get my paws on one of those!

Here are a few more details from Amy about this fantastic bag!

This particular bag is the perfect size for your point and shoot camera or small electronics. With it's fun wristlet, it makes toting around your gadgets stylish and fun! Velcro closure keeps things securely inside.

This one of a kind bag features some classic, yet modern fabrics with a whimsy flair. The pleated ruffle really adds that something extra to the bag. To finish it off, I used some fabulous, polymer clay buttons made by tessaann on Etsy.

Beautiful work, Amy!  Thank you for the inspiration!!!

Treasured Scrapbooking!

I had the honor of creating buttons to compliment a project kit this month for Treasured Scrapbooking!
They called the kit, Under Tessa Ann's Umbrella. How cute is that?!   I designed coordinating buttons for this kit, as well as the add on kit. Kit clubs are so fun! I love creating those one of a kind little goodies that no one else will have!

I was sent a fun kit to work with. A neat canvas album by Chatterbox and lots of colorful paper from Prima's Umbrella line.  Here is what I created!

I used a felt frame to center the title on my album. I handstitched the button I created to the corner. I used bakers twine to thread through the holes in the cute scalloped frame. I used the alphas from the kit to create my title, FAMILY

The kit included 2 colors of paper lace! I use this paper lace as part of my wrapping for my packaging at The Button Shop. It was fun to use in a paper crafting project!

I really enjoyed journaling about my family for this album. I really enjoyed layering colors and textures for my base pages. Yellow, aqua, red= YUM!

Thanks for taking a peek! I hope you enjoyed my little album :-)

UPDATE!  Scrapbook Trends has requested to publish Leslie's "OH SNAP" layout she created for us! Unfortunately this means I have to remove it from this blog, but I'll keep you all updated when to see it appears in glossy! CONGRATULATIONS, Leslie!

Hello :-)  Tessa checking in!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Steve and I took the day off Saturday from The Button Shop to go have a nice lunch downtown and see Alice In Wonderland.

It was my first time seeing a movie in 3D and it was pretty amazing. The scenes and colors of this film were gorgeous and so inspiring. I can definitely see some button sets inspired by this gorgeous film!  We ended our relaxing weekend sipping wine and watching the Oscars. Although...admittedly we didn't make it through the entire show...like every year..lol. The beginning is the best part and then it just becomes really long. I give props to anyone who can sit through the entire ceremony... I have not made it yet.ha!

I digress ;-)

Well, today's Monday!!! Soooo that means we have a new Creative Team spotlight! Today we have the uber talented, Leslie Ashe!

Leslie has created another set of amazing scrapbooking pages for us all to be inspired by! Leslie choose to work with our OH SNAP! button collection for a great page about her son. Leslie used up the black buttons in this collection for finishing touches to a beautiful page she created about her daughter.

Enjoy her lovely scrapbooking art! Have a wonderful week!

Creative Team Member Spotlight- Bridget Baxter!

Welcome Bridget Baxter! Bridget is very talented in many crafts. Her designs are beautiful and her creativity is amazing. We were very excited to have her a part of the Button Shop Team! Get to know Bridget today and enjoy the outfit she created!

Hi! I’m Bridget and I live in teeny tiny town in Northeastern Oregon with my favorite person in the world- my husband, our 5 adorable kids, 5 backyard chickens, and 1 tiny rabbit named Jack. I absolutely love being a stay at home mom to my crew and get to do what I love each and every day. Having 5 kids 10 and under means I’m always busy but it’s a good busy.

I like to think I’m a low key type of person. I own more pajama pants than actual pants. When I’m feeling uninspired and just can’t get into a project I listen to “We will rock you” by Queen and eat Haribo gummy sodas, works every time. I’m a Jill of all trades and love trying every creative thing at least once. I’m addicted to supplies but I don’t know a crafty person who isn’t, so that makes it okay right? I love fabric, paper, ribbons, buttons, pass me the glitter... I’m a happy girl. I grew up sewing and crafting and got addicted to paper crafts and scrapbooking when my oldest was born. I’ve been on a fabric kick for the last 18 months so most of my projects lately are sewing related. You can find me a few times a week on my blog www.bridgetbaxter.blogspot.com.

I am so excited to be a part of Tessa Ann’s creative team, really really excited! When I saw her buttons I instantly fell in love and started sketching out all the projects I wanted to make with them. I loved working with her buttons and hope my projects using them will help you feel inspired to!

Bridget chose to work with our "Color Crazy" buttons. This set of colorful buttons was the perfect fit to embellish an old tee-shirt of her daughters. She even used a couple of buttons to adorn some cute converse sneaker pom-poms!
Bridget perfectly added buttons to this adorable top for her daughter as well as embellishing the bottom corner of the tee- with handmade flowers and our buttons!

What adorable shoes!!

This is such a cute and stylish outfit! What a creative project! Thank you for inspiring us, Bridget! Now break out your buttons and embellish your wardrobe!

Have a happy Monday! I am the guest designer over at Treasured Scrapbooking and have a fun album to share with all of you!  I also created buttons to match their March kits and they turned out adorabley. I will share tomorrow!  Have a wonderful week :)

Customer Spotlight- DoctorCee

DoctorCee has been one of my most loyal customers since The Button Shop opened a little over a year ago. Throughout the year she has been a muse of mine with all of her custom orders and creations using our handmade buttons. She inspires me and encourages me. I love seeing what she creates using our buttons.   Get to know Cee and check out her super cute scrapbooking pages!

My name is Cee.  I am originally from East Chicago, IN.  Currently, I reside in sunny, Phoenix, Arizona.

After completing graduate school, I was searching for an outlook that did not center around reading.  I have always been passionate about photography and placing these “treasures” into albums.  An acquaintance informed me about scrapbooking, and I was hooked.  At that particular time, I was residing in Indiana.  There was a scrapbook store that was less than five minutes from my residence.  I became a “regular.”   I started to call myself a “Scrapbook Harlot.”

Once I moved to Phoenix, Arizona, I immersed myself in the hobby.  I was introduced to Bazzill cardstock and scrapbooking classes.  I have taken classes with Lindsay from Cosmo Cricket and other “scrapbooking celebrities.” I have learned how to properly match papers with embellishments.
I like to add that “special” touch to my pages; buttons are usually the perfect boost that my pages need.  Last year, while reading a scrapbook magazines, I came across Tessa’s buttons, and I have been HOOKED since.  Tessa takes my “lurve” for button to the next level.

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to know Cee!   Have a happy and creative week!
xoxo-Tessa Ann

Monday Creative Team Feature: Leslie Ashe!

Welcome Creative Member, Leslie Ashe!  Leslie's colorful, detailed scrapbooking and paper crafting art has always caught my attention on the web, as well as in many scrapbooking publications. Come get to know Leslie and be inspired by the fabulous pages she has created for us today!

Hi! I'm Leslie. I live in Texas with my cute husband and our 2 fabulous teenagers. Hands down, my fave people in the entire world...my fam. I am all things:  lucky, blessed, and soooo in love. Scrapping has been my passion now for over 12years.  Can't live without it!

My day's not complete if I can't get a little creating done...
I'm a girl with a mind of her own. Not any one scrappy rule do I follow (are there any?). I create to create. Sprinkle me some of this and dab it with some of that...that's how I roll.

I'm so excited to be here at Tessa Ann's Button Shop!
I LOVE buttons. Hope to spread inspiration to all of you, as you all inspire me more than you can imagine. I feel so fortunate to have scrapbook work published in Scrapbook Trends, CARDS, Simply Handmade and soon to be Creating Keepsakes.

I've got a few faves...want to hear them?
  • fave day of the week: Wednesday. (it reminds me it's getting close to the end of the week.)
  • fave food: mexican. (it makes my heart happy and my tummy too!)
  • fave color: pink. (no explanation needed. pink rocks.)
  • fave music - anything playing on my Ipod (can't live without it...)
  • fave animal: dog. (I have 4 myself...they think they're human and I let them..hee hee! which brings up another fave - puppy breath)
  • fave season: fall. (the smell rocks. the brisk wind rocks. fall...it just rocks)
  • fave scrappy thing:  Tessa Ann's DELICIOUS buttons.  OH man...If I could decorate the world with them, I WOULD!
  • fave place to be: anywhere my family is. I love to hang with them, watching movies, shopping, anything.
  • fave place to scrap: my desk in my little studio. I just love being in there listening to Itunes or watching a fave movie....
Leslie chose to work with our "Sweet Cakes" cupcake buttons.

Leslie used buttons to create a beautiful bow center and border for her layout.

A close up of how she used the buttons :)   So cute, Leslie!

"She's my cuppy cake" Seriously. That is a cute title. It makes me think of that cute "cuppy cake" song ;)
I just love the fun whimsy circular scalloped page shape and her handmade flowers are STUNNING!

Thank you, Leslie for inspiring all of us with your amazing pages!  I know I feel inspired to go create something pretty :-)  To see more of Leslie's work visit her blog at: www.leslieashe.blogspot.com

A Collage Album....

I realized today that I completely forgot to share a fun album I created last month for, www.ideasforscrapbookers.blogspot.com   I gathered random pieces...such as my Christmas card, a pretty checkered gift sack from a boutique. I cut raw sheets of chipboard in to pages of various sizes and covered them with a mix of holiday papers...punched holes for binding rings and added all the photos, embellishments and journaling. Simple and effective!  It was a wonderful way to make a fun album about our Christmas at Brasada.

And, lastly....a layout I did a while back playing with some new Elle's Studio . I layered several of her journaling cards around my photo. I just love the aqua and brown deer card and that super cute picture of Duffy and his little black olive (aka. nose..hehe)

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend! Check back on Monday to see what our Creative Team Member,  Leslie Ashe has created for us to be inspired by!!
